I managed to recreate my spectacular stunt of many moons ago (in fact the first Wendyhouse I met the Ladybirds at) by doing a complete forward roll down the steps onto the dance floor and landing nearly on my feet.

(Well, it was actually on my butt, but that sounds ~so~ undignified...)

In the manner of babies and imbiciles surviving earthquakes unscathed, tequilla cushioned my blow and I walked away unharmed (apart from what I can tell will be a couple of spectacular bruises)

Got outside and sent Kris to fetch the car (silly boots make walking BAD, mmmmkay?) waited for what seemed a stupidly long time for him to turn up, only to have arrival of car substitued by a phonecall saying "Some bastard has smashed in your rear window and nicked your spare tyre!"

(In the name of equality I must point out that the bastard could in fact have been a bitch. But even so they're still a bastard)

So then had many a fun game of Hunt the security office, Try to sound intelligible on the phone with the police, and Question how to get 6 people home in a car where the back seat is full of glass.

Am now steeling myself up to go and check if anything else has gone, although I don't think there was anything else TO steal in the boot.

Irony of the night: Getiing out of the car on the way in-

Me: Kris, have you put the club lock on?
Kris: No, does it need it?
(New car has some kind of super duper immobiliser anyway)
Me: Probably not, but I like to put it on anyway cos it puts people off even trying to break in.
Vicki: I always park right up there by the CCTV camera
Me: I'm sure it can see us from there, Besides, we've left cars here for years now and never had any trouble...

Anyway, turns out the camera picked up "a few cars going in and out of the carpark" and nothing else. SO WHAT THE FUCK IS THE POINT OF HAVING IT THERE??!? I would suggest that someone was planning a daring bank raid and had fed a tape of normal carpark activity to the monitor instead, but that would just be silly. Almost as silly as HAVING A CCTV CAMERA THAT DOESN'T ACTUALLY RECORD ANY CRIMES!

(Not that I'm annoyed at all)

I think I'm going to put off checking out the damage and go back to bed. It's all cold and bright out here.

It's amazing what these scrotes will nick. I remember once returning to my car in a station car park and noticing that the car next to me had had it's windscreen stolen. The car was there and nothing else was damaged, the rubber seal was lying on the bonnet and where the screen was was just space.

I've often wondered of the legalaities of buying a junker and filling it with some 'interesting' looking bokes and then wiring semtex to the alarm system.

That would put the little bastards of car theivery*.

*Ok, they may not acttually have much time to consider the error of their ways before they are reduced to atoms but it would be an object lesson for other oiks.

Bah. I'm sorry - that's horrible - I know what's it's like as I got a bit upset when I had a car I loathed smashed up in a pointless break-in. Bastards indeed. But the older I get the more I'm coming around to believing in karma, so they'll get what's coming to them eventually (of course it's better if I can get the chance to help them get what they deserve).

eep! Dear me, not a good way to end the night. You'll just have to hope that the thief gets rubber poisoning from the tyre.

oh dear :(
that happened to me once when I was visiting A&E and parked on the road opposite Jimmy's ...in broad daylight on a saturday! apparently it was quite a common event around there.
must say, it makes me less likely to go to WH again...not that we go very often anyway

hope you get stuff sorted and don't end up too much out of pocket
