Things what I have done or how karma appears to be my friend today:

  • I got a new car. Or more precisely, my parnets helped me get a new car as my other one kept costing lots of money in garage bills and threatening to cost even more, so this is a brand new start. I love my parents to bits. What's more, new car goes considerably faster than old car AND has a smaller engine size so therefore less insurance and less road tax (cos I switched back to petrol from diesel)

  • I got new boots. Which are fab, and kind of free cos I used the insurance refund from new car to buy them, but which crippled me on Saturday night. However:

  • (1) I have discovered some wonderful gel insoles from scholl which make them bouncy as anything I highly recommend and mean that I never need fear hurty shoes again

    and

  • (2) My crippled condition on Saturday night inadvertantly led to me meeting a cute being that could best be described as a dandy truckdriver, and even though I couldn't take advantage of him that night, it looks like I'll have a new friend to play with at Whitby (especially as he is also anti-relationships... perfect!) >:-) In fact had a surprising number of random blokes come up and try to chat me up, which doesn't seem to have happened for a while, so am feeling nicely sexy and glamourous.
(For anyone interested, pic of me at Wendyhouse is here with thanks to [livejournal.com profile] kalifleur

  • Have been stupidly busy at work getting stuff ready for a big awards ceremony at work, and people were getting stressed about, but which turned out to be fab (tonight) AND lots of people came up to me and said "Oh, you're the person Debbie was telling us about that's amazing and she couldn't cope without you!" And doing lots of extra work in the past couple of weeks I've built up enough lieu time that I don't actually need to book off holiday for Whitby. AND I got to play official photographer, and people were impressed at the size of my camera AND what I did with it ;-) AND I get the next couple of days off so I can catch up on freelance stuff (Patrick, this means YOU and Debbie sends you huge appologies for stealing me!)

  • While panic buying clothes for the award ceremony ended up buying two tops and only paying for one as the salesgirl was not paying attention... have now decided to return both as neither fitted so shall most likely make money out of it (no I shan't admit where it is as someone browsing random live-journals is bound to read this and have the FBI waiting for me when I walk in to make my returns)

  • Got to see my brother on Sunday for his birthday (my baby brother is now 25!!!!) and see him and my Dad before they head of to the land of Oz for a month. Bought him a [livejournal.com profile] dead_tech t-shirt which he loves and will now be taking on a tour down under. Then came back to see my favourtite housemate in the world playing a cracking set on Sunday night, which can be viewed here and was very silly and giddy and bouncy and made a few more new friends (though not shaggable ones this time round)

  • AND my PVC dress that I can't possibly afford but will somehow justify anyway (Um... it's PVC! Justification complete...) may actually be ready in time for Whitby :-D

  • Saw lots of lovely people last weekend, will see even more this weekend and lots and lots and lots at WHIIIIIIIIIIIIITBYYYYYYYYYY! (and I'm never this excited this early about Whitby... guess it's cos plans are actually to be in the pub, which is good, instead of the Spa, which is shit)

So, in all, life is good which makes me a tiny bit paranoid but have decided that it is karmic balance to the shit start to the year when I was all ill and hurting.

Right.. firstly, you is stunning and gorgeous, secondly.. I can't find Prague any cheaper than about 140, which is doable for me (but possibly in January sometime?) but some other European destinations are under 100.. We should discuss this like grown-ups next time we meet!

Hurrah for travelling and suchlike!

I managed to get flights from East Midlands for December for £70 return and a 3 star hotel for £124 for a double room for three nights, it's called the 'Golden Stag' and it has a lot of links to other places.

Jet 2 are cheaper than that, but it would still be cheaper with them to book for January time than to go now... and it might be better timewaise for me too, as I already have one possible pre-Christmas trip planned and lots of stuff starting to happen and Whitby and I'm going to go off and panic now ;0)

(Oh, and *blush*)

the new car goes faster!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now what hve we told you about warping the fabric of the space time continuthingy to get to places quicker?
Tuesday, October 21st, 2003 02:25 am (UTC)
but surely she's already everywhere she could want to be already, because of quantum or somesuch?
Tuesday, October 21st, 2003 03:13 am (UTC)
Actually thats what i'm worried about if she does travel any faster then the quantum backwash from the passage of her car will be such as to cause ireparable damage to the fabric of space and time (not to mention the stains in the trouser fabric of her passengers). She will reach a form of "critical mass" where she is as the same place everywhere at the same time. However owing to the relative mass of the car and contents when the waveform collapes back into "normal" space she will cause a black hole!!!!!
Tuesday, October 21st, 2003 03:56 am (UTC)
Well, it is black...
Tuesday, October 21st, 2003 05:26 am (UTC)
Black Holes and Anna's car bending the fabric of time. Sounds fun and should also mean I get the parking spot at the Whitby Cottage.

Surely if your car is so FAB it can find another dimension to occupy during the weekend.

What a lot of excess karma. Can I borrow some?

Tuesday, October 21st, 2003 04:12 am (UTC)
Yes, of course! Although I think you're due lots and lots of good karma of your own...
Tuesday, October 21st, 2003 06:23 am (UTC)
**takes karma**

WoW!! It's beautiful!!
Tuesday, October 21st, 2003 03:00 am (UTC)
all the cars will have to make friends at whitby again then :)... has your new car got a name yet?
Tuesday, October 21st, 2003 03:55 am (UTC)
My cars tend to be called "Car" because people have names and my cars don't like to be associated with people, cos people can't drive properly.

It has a bat, though...
Tuesday, October 21st, 2003 04:57 am (UTC)
bats are good *nods*

2. Haven't I always told you all that truckers are good things!!
3. Please be careful and don't go tooooo fast

They were the whole foot ones, but they'll probably do them in a halfsole as well, but they really did make crippling agony transform into bouncing and were all strange and squishy and blue!

Raaaaa! to Whitbyness... just think, in just seven days I shall be screaming round the house having a massive sewing\packing\hair-dyeing\mummy-I-want-a-time-machine panic!
