...and I can't eat anything :-(

Wieighted myself this morning and I managed to take off most of the weight that the weekend's over-indulgence put on which means I should be back on track to my lowest weight this year (and hopefully keep on going after that) by Friday. Trouble is I have a nice meal planned for tonight that's quite high in calories but it's all stuff that has to be eaten today (as I refuse to waste any food at the minute cos it all costs money) So I'm left with about 300 calories for the rest of the day (yes, I know how fascinating all this must be and I don't care) and I have some gorgeous home made vegetable soup for lunch which is very low calorie but I'm trying to put off eating that for as long as possible by doing all kinds of pointless things like making lists of possible meals for the next week and writing all about it in livejournal.

On the plus side have started getting some ideas for dead:tech down on paper (screen?)

Still need to book Barcelona.

Hungry.

Yay. Barcelona is great, I went about 5-6 years back and had a great time and have oodles of photos. Where abouts are you hoping to stay? I was in Ciutat Vella, on a side street off The Rambla, Which was fab as it was within stumbling distance of all the best day and night life, and they have this fab market down the middle of the road. Pity it was a bit of a trek to all the Gaudi stuff, but it was worth it.

I have no idea as yet... was hoping to get out there on a cheap flight in a couple of weeks time but didn't want to book anything until I'd done a little background research - but now think it might be better to book now cos that will make me do it and if not I'll put it off forever.

Do you speak any Spanish and can you get along there without it? I know a handful of phrases but it's not exactly my strongest language...

The more touristy areas you can get away without [still it polite to try if you can, rather then speak in English VERY LOUDLY and ve-ee-rr-ry sl-ll-oo-ww-ly...] its only when you go off the beaten track that it'll be essential, thankfully I went on a college trip, and the tutor who I got on well with was reasonably fluent.

Any suggestions on where to go and what to see (especially the beyond the obvious stuff) would also be welcomed as I need to find stuff to write about....

Off the top of my head I can only think of obvious things like Gaudi's cathedral and park, the Picasso gallery, that sort of thing. I'll root around for my Stuff-I-Found-In-Barcelona book, my photos, and any other Barcelona related stuff I may have kept around...

Thats ok, though I'm not sure how much I can help you on the 'non-touristy' type stuff coz as I said, I went on a college trip, so we tended to stick to touresty parts appart from when we went to arty type places, but you'll want to go to them I suspect...

You looked like you'd lost loads of weight when I saw you on saturday. I meant to tell you but never got round to it.
