Finally managed to make it to drop in centre to speak to nice doctor about sudden re-emergence of periods. As many people suggested, is definitely nothing to worry about and probably long term effect of switching from injection to implant. Two particularly good things:
1. I'm definitely still baby-proofed - she checked the implant and it's still all as it should be.
2. If I want to get rid of the periods again without going back to the injections, I can always switch to the IUD as that's guaranteed blood-free.

also

3. It appears to be spring outside.

Still have head full of PMT, but cheerful brain is fighting back :-)

(And thank you to everyone for helpful advice and sympathy!)

I've known friends have an IUD fitted (not sure what kind as some are hormonal as well) and they were told they wouldn't have any bleedin g and they did.

I'm on a double dose of a POP and don't seem to be having any periods apart from occasional light spotting - it's great.

And before I forget as I've been meaning to say it for ages and keep forgetting - if you need your cv proofreading then give us a shout :-)

I'd highly recommend the Mirena coil. It's the best thing I've tried, it didn't mess up my body as much as the pill had previously done and after the first 2 months I had no further bleeding.

Hope you feel better soon lovely *hugs*
