Um...

So this posting once a day doesn't quite work as well when you have nothing to say.

I have spent much of today looking at computer-y stuff, including USB sticks, for some illustration work, which in turn has led to much geeking over USB gadgets. I wanna USB fairy lights ana USB Christmas tree ana UBS drumkit ana USB jellyfish tank ana USB glitter fountain ana UBS missile launcher ana USB remote control helipcopter ana USB ninja monkey. But not a USB aroma ball because that's just going too far. And not a USB humping dog because I already have one.

(Not going to link individually, they're all here)

I'm sure there must lots of other things that would benefit from being USB'd. Fire, for one. I know that you can get USB cigarette lighters, but I want a USB open fire on which I can toast marshmallows.

Update: it's a bit cold in the office since the move, so people are now busy googling USB slippers, gloves, hats and 'massage scarves. I now want a USB coffee maker.

Hmmmmmmm, not sure how the coffee maker would work, USB doesn't provide a fraction of the power you'd need to boil water.......

*sigh* I know... that page was the only one I could find, and even that is saying 'WHEN we get our hands on one we'll try it out.' But I can dream!

Maybe I could hook it up to every Mac in the office? Or even every computer in the comany? >:-)

(Ironically, we aren't allowed a real coffee maker on the grounds of 'health and safety' hence me trying to find an experimental heating device I can plug directly into my computer...)

Probably takes 8 ports and a very long time!

Got the missile launcher (it was a gift, honest), and it's quite cute really, but would benefit from the addition of a webcam and some target-tracking software - unfortunately I stopped writing software a long time ago so it's beyond me. When I worked in an open-plan office a few of us had them on our desks and the ensuing battles were fun.... for about two days.

USB marshmallow toasting machine- i'll take two, would be very handy in our office which swaps from roasting hot to freezing cold and nowhere in between!
