Unfortunately we couldn't make it to the pub tonight due to a death in the family. lykeios's Real Best-friend-in-the-world-ever, Dante, suffered an allergic reaction to a Windows update (not the nasty XP service pack but an allegedly non-toxic Win2k update), turned blue, and stopped opperating. Luckily he was revived thanks to much swearing and an emergency re-install-optomy, and is now in a critical but stable condition. Obviously lykeios has been greatly shaken by these near-tragic events, and any messages of sympathy (or chocolate) would be hugely appreciated.

I tried fitting the last of my galaxy down the modem but it got all sticky...

Blue screens are evil. Even worse if it's not your pc and you happen to be working on it at the time *worry*

Am glad to hear he is stable...microsoft have a lot to answer for, don't you think??

Whats even better is when first the sound goes... so you restart... it doesn't boot up properly... ok just installed new grpahics drivers had a bit of a problem with them guess it's that... restart and into safe mode... reinstall graphics drivers, reinstall sound drivers... restart... still not booting up... back into safe mode... BSOD!!!... try safe mode no networking... BSOD... try running windows repair... and this is the best bit... into safe mode and... BSOD... :( still managed to get the important stuff back up and running... ( internet, virus checking, messanger ) :D

Dantes a Goth... nuff said... think it's down to male way of genderising things... Although Dante is a he most men I know ( in general ) tend to refer to cars, ships, computers etc as she's... due to all the breakdowns and crashing... >:)
