Hello...found this post on my "friendsfriends" list (its a dull day at work!), but seeing as I work for "one" of the mobile networks - the one you are on, in fact, I may be able to help...
Handsets first - if you want a cameraphone go for either a Nokia 7250i or SonyEricsson T610. I have the latter and cannot recommend it enough. The Nokia is good, but doesn't have Bluetooth (useful and more reliable than infrared for sending pictures and the like). Picture quality on the T610 is much better, too, but the camera struggles a bit without decent light.
Best suggestion is to get a phone shop to demo both phones for you.
