So, I'm party planning.

I will be 21* in February, so I'm planning on celebrating this with a proper party, on Saturday 6th February 2010. Which seems like a long way away but probably isn't.

(And yes, I know that's right after Black Sheep and is possibly Black Veil but EVERY bloody weekend clashes with something and everything else happens every month and my 21st* birthday is only going to happen once**. So the 6th. Definitely.)

I'm still not sure whether to make it a house party or to try to book a room somewhere in town.

Advantages of a house party is that it's often cheaper (for guests at least) as people can bring their own drinks rather than paying bar prices.

BUT

Advantages of booking a room somewhere is that it's be somewhere central (we live out towards the ringroad), no chance of running out of food or drink, no risk of disturbing the neighbours, and no tidying up afterwards!

I think what's worrying me most is I have absolutely no idea how many people would actually come. When we did a Halloween party several years back we ended up with a comfortable houseful of people. But the last few years hardly anyone has turned out for my birthday - last year was just Jacqui - which admittedly is because I never got round to even mentioning it until a few days before when people were already booked up or broke, but still it gives me the fear. I don't want to plan something - especially if it did involve booking somewhere - only to find that nobody turned up.

Decisions, decisions.

I'm probably leaning towards a house party at the minute, since that would work with a small group or a larger one.

Any opinions? Advice? Anyone that would come to a house party but not one in town, or vice versa? Anyone who would definitely come and play regardless? (Yes, I'm looking for reassurance here *bites nails*)

I have to decide something soon or it will suddenly be the 5th Feb and everyone will be broke-and-busy again :-/
