Our office is holding a competition where you have to predict all the scores in the group matches, and then go on to predict who will be playing in each of the second round, quarters, semi's and final along with the scores for those. I need to fill my entry in by the end of the day, as I'm only in 3 days this week.
I know nothing about football. Nada. Zilch. Zero. I'm guessing Brazil are probably better tan Angola but I'd have no idea how, for example, Germany and Sweden compare.
I was going to just fill in numbers at random like the lottery. But most of the guys working here are sports journalists, and the rest are massive footbal fans, so I'd like to not look too stupid. So:
Is there anyone out there so excited about the world cup that they've already made their own predictions they could share with me? Or could anyone suggest a straightforward, reliable type of betting site, where I could check out the odds on various matching and make a prediction based on that? (Although I'm guessing betting odds are more heavily skewed in England's favour than reality, unless I can find an international site...)
Or could anyone suggest who they think the most likely finalists, semi-finalists etc are so I coudl work back from there?
Or does anyone have any creative suggestions for how I can fill this bloody thing in?
