Um... not in any particular order:
THE CRB HAVE FINALLY FINISHED PROCESSING MY CLAIM!!! Which means that within fivce to ten working days (baring any further delays, upsets, apocalypses etc) the council will finally (hopefully) get a piece of paper telling them that I am indeed who I say I am and it's safe to employ me. Going to get in touch with Personnel on Monday so that hopefully things will be ready for me to start as soon as the vital bit of paper arrives, rather than having to sit through endless more weeks of faffing. I know this is extremely unlikely as given how long the CRB have held things up, the council are bound to add their own delays just to make some kind of point. But still, I can dream...
Getting quite enthusiastic about this healthy activity thing. Went to aquarobics with Sel on Wednesday which was great fun as it's the only time you are not only not kicked out of the pookl for jumping around and splashing, you are actively encouraged too :-) Slippery swimming pool bottoms and water resistance made it impossible to keep time with the music but that was ok xcos nobody else could either - it was less of a synchronised swimming effect and more of a fave-year-olds music and movement playgoup. It was very silly and great fun and we're going to go again.
Have also signed up for fencing lessons which is good as cos they're prepaid I have to go to the leisure centre each week and will therefore be more likely to keep up with the swimming too. And it will mean that I can finally say "Touche" to people and ~mean~ it. Now I just want to find some kind of martial artsy type thing - I want something that's as energetic as kickboxing but more mind-and-body - I always get the impression that kickboxing is mainly physical. And possibly yoga as well. Then all I need is to get enough money together for some horseriding lessons and to buy a bike. I also need to rescue my tennis racket from my parent's as I've found some people to play against. Not only do I intend to be haelthy, I shall also be able to defeat the villian and ride away into the sunset.
(And after that, flying lessons >:-) )
Got hosting sorted out for my business website so now all I need to do is find some way of making my hosting site and the one that my domain name is registered with become friends. I believe this involves some kind of obscure ritual with IP addresses and DNS server names. Alternatively I may lock them both in a small room and get them drunk.
Have some ideas now for what the website\logo could be thanks to some inspiration from Kris, and been happily pushing ahead with some drawing and design projects that I've been working on for friends. Aiming to get as much of this done as possible in the next couple of weeks so that hopefully the bulk will be done before I start the council job, and I can then start looking properly for big grown up freelance projects that will pay me lots and lots of money. (No, I don't want to hear all the reasons why this isn't the way it happens in real life. It's my fantasy and I'm keeping it. I'm also keeping the hovercar and the two headed monkey)
What else?
Went to one of Trish's wonderful murder dinners last night. For the second time in a row I fialed to be the murderer (well, I've never been the murderer but it's twice now that I've tried but failed spectacularly to despatch the victim) This time I actually figured out exactly who the murderer was... then at the last minute changed my mind and accused someone else as I thought they had a dodgy alibi. (They said they were out flying their pet hawk. Thus was after sunset. Hawks don't fly after dark. They refuse to take off. I'm sure I heard this somewhere so it must be true. Someone, back me up, please?) I still think I was right and the policeman on the tape was wrong and am starting a campaign to free the Trasylvania One.
Off for a bimble in the country tomorrow (I'm not entirely sure what a bimble is but I've been assured that I will enjoy it) Have prepared important things like cameras and umberellas and rugs and pickernick baskets (well, tupperware, cos that's less likely to attract wandering anthropomorphic bears) and at some point tomorrow shall set off in search of somewhere with sunshine and water and ice cream and the North Pole and Eeyore's tail and Blackbeard's treasure and all kinds of interesting and exciting adventures.
As I have not yet started the fencing lessons I may also pack a water pistol just in case...
Hmmm... should sleep now
(By the way, it's bloody hot isn't it?)
