ebay gripe

Had two items that I bought from eBay fail to show. When I got in touch with the sellers, both told me that they sent the items first class over a week ago. They both have lots and lots of good feedback so I think they're both telling the truth. And the both sent stuff first class on the same way so it looks like it's one delivery which has gone AWOL on the way to my house. (Although as both parcels were travelling up from Essex - although opposite ends of the county - on the same day it could actually be a lost sack of mail en route) Need to check with the post office just in case they left a card which has somehow wandered off the doormat or something but they're not open till tomorrow morning now. Also going to check with our immediate neighbours just in case it's been delivered to them by mistake.

So apart from the above, and obviously gnashing of teeth and wailing, anyone got any suggestions of what else I could do to try to track these missing packages down? They were both just standard post (though at least one person has proof of postage) and the sellers have both said they'll chase things at their end, I just have the horrible feeling that it's somehing gone wrong up here.
