Had another interview for the council this morning... another part time admin assistant think only they call it a monitoring officer which sounds posh... Not as confident this time that the interview went well but don't think it went badly. Should hear this afternoon whether or not I got the job, but still in two minds as to whether it's good or not:

Pro's
  • It's a small team which usually means less bureaucracy to deal with
  • It will involve doing website design as well as general admin type stuff
  • It's a new position which will hopefully mean that I can to a certain extent define my own role
  • There's plenty of carparking

    Con's
  • It's working in a place where there are small children
  • It's term time only so come mid July I'll be facing 6 weeks with no steady income (although after that it's a long term and at least I'll get plenty of time off over Christmas)
  • It's temporary
  • It's not in the city centre (good thing as I won't be tempted to spend money, bad thing as can't easily meet up with people after work or at lunch and more importantly will involve multiple buses if the car's not working)

    UPDATE:
Well, in spite of worrying (or possibly because of it knowing fate) I have the job! And I'm letting the pro's outweigh the cons for the minute cos I said I'd take it! Now just got to wait while they do background checks and stuff and wait for personnel to get in touch to confirm!

It's quite scary because now I'm going to find out whether I can actually do all the things I told them I could do... although I'm actually feeling quite confident... while I find it a real struggle to be organised myself I am fantastically good at organising other people... I hope!
